Fostering Healthy Senior Relationships

This informational session is on services and strategies for talking with older people about healthy relationships to foster safer communities and prevent relationship abuse. Topics will include the myths and facts of senior relationships, the pillars of all healthy relationships, skills around consent and healthy communication, and an overview of elder relationship abuse and local resources/support. This program is appropriate for family members, caregivers, older people themselves, and professionals working with seniors.

Andrew Shepard (they/them) is the Director of Education and Community Engagement with Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine. They have been working with SARSSM for just under two years and are dedicated to education and awareness building around violence in the Southern Maine community. Andrew graduated from Hampshire College in 2020 with a B.A. in Public Health. Outside of SARSSM, Andrew is a local theater producer and lives in Westbrook.

This program is free and open to the public. Registration is required.

Tours of Legacy Memory Care will follow the program. Tours of Falmouth House are always available by appointment.
